An associate board is a group of early and mid level career corporate professionals who provide support to a nonprofit's leadership in order to carry the nonprofit's mission forward!
Nonprofits know you’re busy, but they also know you care. That’s why they built associate boards. The experience allows you to get involved as much or as little as your schedule allows.
It’s true. Beyond making an impact on those who need it most, associate boards can be an incredible way to meet new people, gain new perspectives and learn new skills.
Associate board members bring fresh perspectives and new ideas on how to raise the visibility of the organization.
Associate Board members plan events that will appeal to a broad audience to further the reach of the nonprofit
Associate Board members leverage their networks and unique skill sets to spread awareness and fundraise.
Make a tangible lasting impact on a cause that’s meaningful to you personally!
Network with like minded peers & senior patrons of the nonprofit
And improve your leadership and communication skills
Most associate boards have quarterly meetings that members can attend in person or dial in too. Members are also usually encouraged to attend events put on the associate board and encouraged to volunteer when they can.
Associate boards generally ask members to make a financial contribution made up of a combinations of your own donations and in-kind gifts, fundraising, ticket sales, etc. Amount of expected contributions vary between organizations.
